Freedom Fries

Hey folks,

with the US presidential elections being so close now I doubt anybody in the world who’s the least bit interested in global politics is without an opinion as for who would be the better US president: Barack ‘Osama’ Obama or John ‘Freedom Fries’ McCain?

Austrian-born Californian Senator Schwarzenegger just held his first and only speech promoting Sen. McCain claiming that socialism had “driven him out of Europe”.Frankly, when hearing this I was glad the Arnold Schwarzenegger Stadium in Graz has already been renamed. Sometimes one can be tempted to believe that only absolute hardliners and nudnikim get out of Austria and become politicians in other countries …

Talking of which the nice little fellows of alquaida of course have their preferences in an US American president too. A joice, by the by, I can absolutely understand. And no, it’s not the man who’s second name is a Muslim one but rather the one who keeps telling us he’s going to hunt down “terorrists” like Capt. Ahab his whale:

Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.

[…]

if alQaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, “impetuous” Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is the better choice because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. [source, thanks Shahrazad]

As far as my clique is concerned most people don’t think that it will make much of a difference whether Obama or McCain actually is elected anyway. In the end in 2000 it wasn’t Bush who was elected either

But well, we’ll see.

yours,

Migdalit

  1. Obama seems more liberal and with a young mind and his campaign seems more energic. On the other hand, McCain is old enough and seems to live in the years of cold war!!
This Al Qaeda cliam was hilarious, but had many meaning behind it. Esp when they released this news in one of their sites, hosted on Google!!

  2. Hey Shahrzad, thanks for dropping by 🙂

McCain might be the best guarantee for a bigger global crisis, wouldn’t be surprised if he went as far as attacking Iran and put it and the whole region into a chaos even worse then the one in Iraq. No wonder al-quaeda is all in favour if him, he would guarantee for a whole army of suicide bombers during the next two generations …

On the other hand I fear that Obama might not be able to deal with the sharks of Washington D.C.. Not necessarily because he has too little experience but mostly because he is too idealistic for politics; I wonder how he could have come as far as that.
Plus, call me paranoid but I bet he’ll either be bought right away or assasinated within a year.

Either way: I don’t see any danger for actual ‘change’ in the US …

Thanks for the gorgeous link though 🙂 Had a great laugh.

  3. Obama’s idealism reminds me of Ahmadinejad efforts for presidential election in Iran. Like history is repeating itself in The US now. Though, as you know, like previous Election, if they dont want him, they will drop him within the election. Like what they did with John Kerry.
I assume America’s policy is changing by own not bcs of Obama or whatever. They are openning doors for relationship with Iran. US needs Iran, so they can make a peace contract between Syria and Israel, Paletinians and Israel and Iraq also. Now that Arabs hiddenly have their relations with Israel, after sometimes Iran will be so alone in the ME. Iranian leaders are also eager for it. In the hope that it reduces the political pressures on Iran’s economic which is getting ruined.

You can’t say how much life is difficult in iran right now. It’s like we Iranians live in other planet. No Visa, no international bank relation, unemployment, low prizes of oil. Very very low Salaries and Hungry people. All are Ahmadinejad’s nitemares nowadays..
Yesterday he called economical masters in Iran to help the government in this case within a message via TV..
